A Memorial Day Reflection: The Keeper of Souls
A Memorial Day Reflection: The Keeper of Souls
Brethren, on this sacred day, we pause to honor those who have given the fullest measure of devotion. Their sacrifice, etched in time and memory, is not forgotten, nor is it in vain.
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1-2)
The hands that once labored, the hearts that once endured, the lives that were given—each rests now in the care of the Almighty. He, who does not slumber nor sleep, watches over His own, preserving them even beyond the veil of this mortal life.
"The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore." (Psalm 121:8)
And so, let this day not only be one of sorrow, but of deep gratitude. Let it be a reminder that courage is not forgotten, that devotion is honored, and that the light of faith shall ever lead us forward.
May we walk humbly, with hearts full of remembrance and hope, knowing that the same Lord who kept them watches over us still.
