Reflection on True Worship and Glorifying the Lord

“Brethren, let us consider the words of our Lord, spoken as He beheld the adornments of the temple. He declared that the day shall come when not one stone shall remain upon another, but all shall be cast down. These words call us to reflect upon the nature of true worship and the manner in which we glorify our Creator.

There are those who, with noble intent, fashion sanctuaries resplendent with earthly riches, believing such grandeur to befit the glory of Almighty God. Yet I say unto you, the Lord is not honored by gilded halls nor costly jewels. Nay, He seeks not the wealth of man’s purse, but the humility of man’s heart.

The glory which our Lord desires is not found in the chiseling of stone or the burnishing of gold, but in the sacrifice of praise and the proclamation of His holy name. It is in the teaching of His statutes and the leading of souls unto salvation that we magnify Him. True glory is found in the life surrendered unto righteousness, and in the love for our neighbors, as Christ so loved us.

Let us not labor to build monuments to our faith, for the splendor of such works will surely crumble. Rather, let us strive to build the kingdom of God within our hearts and within the hearts of others, that His glory may endure forevermore.”
